"Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and everybody who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective." ( James 5: 14-16)
If you know you are going to the hospital for surgery, please notify Msgr. Parlante and he will be glad to anoint you after Mass.
Aged, Shut-Ins, and Hospitalized
A recently enacted law has affected the long-standing practice of hospitals and nursing facilities providing information to churches about parishioners who are patients/residents. Because of that new law, the priest and the staff in the parish office may not promptly learn, or may not learn at all, that a member of the Parish has been admitted to the hospital/nursing facility.
If members of your family are hospitalized or enter a long-term care facility or assisted, independent living facility, contact the parish office (610) 459-2502 personally to inform the parish of the hospital, name and room number of the patient/resident. The sacraments of Penance, Eucharist or Anointing are our joy and privilege to administer.
