Environment-Simplified Living Ministry

A St. Cornelius Out Reach Ministry

What is this Ministry about?

Environment-Simplified Living Ministry is a new group forming in St. Cornelius to provide education and activities for parishioners that enable us to better live in harmony with nature and with all God’s creatures and blessings. Through the choices we make and the things we buy, our actions can help or can harm both nature and people locally and around the world. Our goal is to provide the understanding and the options for making better choices in regard to the foods and goods that we purchase – better for each person involved, better for Mother Nature. We feel that the more we see the REAL impact of our purchases, the greater spirituality and quality of living will result for each of us, for our families and for all in our larger community.

Environment-Simplified Living Ministry is an outgrowth of the JustFaith movement in our parish. JustFaith is a faith formation process that serves to strengthen our commitment to care for the vulnerable and to become advocates for justice. In that same spirit, we seek to renew and strengthen “that covenant between human beings and the environment which should mirror the creative love of God, from whom we come and towards whom we are journeying.” (Pope Benedict XVI, World Day of Peace 2010)

How can you get involved?

We are interested in gaining new members who share the above vision and goal and want to become involved in making the Environment- Simplified Living Ministry a vital part of our parish community. We also welcome your ideas about types of education and activities that you feel would be helpful.
